Around 25 years ago, give or take a bit, I found this magazine article about making wooden snowflakes, and so I made some. In fact, we still have them and they get put on the Christmas tree every year.
This year I thought it would be fun to revisit this project, but with a twist: First, I wanted to mix species of wood for one set of snowflakes. Second, I wanted to take that up a further notch by making up boards with lots of strips of contrasting wood species, and then using THAT to make multi-coloured snowflakes. I think they turned out awesome. Check out the video and I hope you'll agree.
